The SEAWAY Group is growing! SEAWAY is currently looking for passionate, and experienced freight forwarding Business Development Manager to join our National Sales team.

Based at either our Head Office in Southbank or Melbourne Airport Office, we are looking for a proactive and assertive individual who is eager to apply their sales expertise and further develop their career in the Supply Chain industry.

Your New Role

Utilising your experience in all aspects of freight forwarding sales and relationship management you will be responsible for the growth, development and maintenance of new business, supported by SEAWAY’s comprehensive infrastructure footprint, supplier relationships and network.

With autonomy to complete what you do best and secure new growth opportunities, you’ll also work closely with our fantastic Import Sea & Air operations & customer service teams to develop strong customer relationships, and deliver our high standard of end to end customer care.


Your primary areas of focus will include:

  • Proactively develop an active sales pipeline
  • Utilise your broad industry experience and sales acumen to achieve new business sales targets
  • Identify and act on opportunities to develop new business
  • Maintain strong customer relationships
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accounts are managed appropriately
  • Organise and attend various events, meetings & conferences
  • Complete sales reports and other administration tasks where required


Eligibility & Success Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a business development or sales role within the freight and cargo forwarding industry
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, pursuing and securing new business opportunities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to deliver tailored solutions
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance requirements and operational processes
  • Proficient in using CRM systems and data analysis tools to track and report on sales activities
  • Knowledge of or previous use of CargoWise One
