CTO Branch Manager - Brisbane Airport

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Cargo Terminal Operator, who is passionate about motivating and supporting their operations team!

AIRWAY has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and engaged individual who will bring their experience to deliver a high level of service in the position of Branch Manager. This role will manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our Brisbane Airport Site.

To be successful in this position, our ideal candidate will have experience managing and leading a team, excellent planning and organisational skills and safety will be your highest priority. Your expertise in airfreight and cargo terminal operations, and leadership skills, will be critical for your success in this role.

About You

You will have a proven track record of driving efficiencies in a fast-paced environment. You will be a dynamic leader with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Management-level role within an airfreight company, with direct reports 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strategic thinking and ability to identify and execute new opportunities 
  • Confident and effective new business development and relationship building skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of OH&S
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to operate autonomously and self-motivate
  • Ability to balance day-to-day operations with long-term strategic goals

  • Experience in Cargo Terminal Operations or Branch Manager 
  • Advanced knowledge of OH&S legislation 
  • Current ASIC
  • Knowledge of various software systems and ability to pick up new systems quickly


Yourkey responsibilitieswill include:

  • Ensure & promote a safe working environment and culture at all times and adhere to all OH&S procedures and guidelines
  • Staff management including but not limited to managing staff engagement, performance and career development 
  • Warehouse and facility management including but not limited to labour hire, vehicle & forklift maintenance, licensing, OH&S, accreditations
  • Financial management – reporting, cost management and budget control 
  • Proactively source and execute new CTO business opportunities 
  • Maintain strong operational relationships with all designated accounts
  • General reporting and administration on a regular basis
  • Ensure service KPIs are consistently met and identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Export and import operations including but not limited to managing bookings, arranging inspections, documentation and invoicing
