Procurement Manager

SEAWAY is seeking a talented Procurement Manager who is looking for a role where they can make a real impact in delivering rewarding and innovative procurement solutions.

This is a pivotal role within our Import Sea & Air division, based at either our Southbank office in Melbourne or Alexandria Office in Sydney.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with all carriers & suppliers across multifaceted levels, securing the best services and products at competitive prices for our nationwide operations. You'll play a key role in our continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to streamline procurement processes across multiple areas of the business.

We are seeking someone with strong procurement sourcing experience, exceptional organisation and planning skills and dedication to achieving client satisfaction while maintaining a quality service adhering to procurement policy and processes.

The Role

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with clients, carriers and operational & sales teams 
  • Provide commercial and procurement expertise, advice and assistance to internal stakeholders
  • Assist business areas to deliver sourcing activities end-to-end; incorporating strategy development (with business area subject matter experts), development of tender documentation, evaluation of proposals, and negotiation 
  • Conduct negotiations with carriers and freight providers to secure competitive rates and favorable terms for transportation services
  • Plan and lead contract negotiations in the establishment and review of supply arrangements to deliver value for money procurement outcomes
  • Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with carriers and customers to evaluate performance, address issues, and identify opportunities for improvement

 
About You

Required skills & experience:

  • At least 3 years' procurement experience in the freight forwarding industry 
  • At least 12 months' experience using CargoWise One 
  • Outstanding and proactive communication skills 
  • Excellent email and phone manner
  • Strong people skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and self-motivate
  • Strong administration skills
