Transport Operations
6 month maternity leave contract, ideal for someone looking to develop their Cartage Coordination skills. This role is available in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.
The Role
Reporting directly to our Transport Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for someone within the freight forwarding industry to develop their cartage coordination skills.
Joining our Import Sea & Air division, this role will suit a deadline driven individual with strong relationship management skills.
Your Responsibilities:
- Maintaining communication with relevant stakeholders throughout the various stages of the transport process
- Placing and monitoring bookings in a timely manner
- Arranging documentation and appropriate transportation
- Maintain high quality customer service in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with sales team, account holders and internal staff to ensure client requirements are met
- Liaising directly with transport companies and warehouses to ensure speedy turnaround
- Plan and negotiate suitable pickup and delivery time frames with customers
- Work closely with team members on a daily basis and provide back up support to each other to manage seasonal volumes
About You
Required Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in import operations / freight forwarding
- Knowledge of CargoWise One
- Demonstrated ability to solve operational and transport problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and adaptable learner
This is a full-time position with standard office hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
