Project Overview
An Australian Oil Field Services company approached SEAWAY with a unique challenge, 6 x pump trailers which had never been lifted previously and now would have to be given no RORO(Roll-On/Roll-Off) space was available to the market. Other challenges included but were not limited to, satisfying complex BMSB pre clearance and cleanliness requirements for used equipment into AU and transfer pricing considerations. The pumps were accompanied by a manifold, chemicals, iron and other small but vital pieces to the operation.
With the clients’ scope in NZ going well over anticipatedfinish date, and charter vessel fast approaching, we had less than 3 days to getto the port, ready for loading and export, including cleaning, whilst ensuringthe highest level of safety standards were adhered to. Our NZ projectcounterparts worked through the night in shifts to ensure this happened and thecut off date was made with ZERO detention incurred, the equipment arriving inAU in a very clean condition.
Upon arrival in Mackay (strategically chosen) SEAWAY projectmanagers attended the unloading and liaised with local DAFF officers to ensuresmoothest possible navigation through DAFF protocols.
Overall time frame from collection NZ, shipping, unloading, Customs and Quarantine clearance was about 22 days compared to the 6 weeks anticipated. Failure to execute this high pressure project would have been potentially catastrophic for both the Service company and Operator, and SEAWAY were able to put together a solution others could not.
