An EPC approached us with a major challenge late in the piece of their critical infrastructure project, unable to acquire Air freight space due to Golden week shut downs in China and unable to acquire Ocean Freight space due to Covid shipping challenges.

Heavy LDs were facing them if unable to deliver the project intime and have gas coming out the ground at the required date. With multiple parties and mills involved, we coordinated with all to collect 14 tonne of airfreight pipe fittings and negotiate space on 2 x part charter flights from Hangzhou to Sydney, truck to Brisbane.

For the 5 x FCLs of pipes, we negotiated space on the next TS Lines vessel to Sydney also, deciding due to the ships’ coastal rotation in AU, that was the quickest option (direct from Shanghai, saving 12 days on the water to Brisbane), before unpacking and delivering to Brisbane on flat bed trucks.

Both the Air and Ocean Freight was delivered on time and on budget getting our client out of a very dire predicament.
