Overview

Mindful of the global RORO(Roll-On/Roll-Off) challenges / space shortages in recent years, SEAWAY was engaged to manage the door-to-door transportation by an Australian Oilfield Services company of a 180K Nitrogen Pumping Unit from Calgary in Canada to Brisbane Australia in the most direct, cost-effective, and timely manner possible.

To avoid long-haul road travel through the US down to the East Coast and associated risks we coordinated with our North American counterparts to secure the required space and a competitive RORO price out of the Port of Tacoma in Washinton DC.

Along with title clearance for the equipment at the border and fumigation and wash services at the port before departure, we worked together to have all required import documentation in order to ensure the smoothest possible Customs and Quarantine clearance.

Transporting specialist equipment of this nature is always a complex undertaking and it was great to work closely with our client for a very successful result for all, and the asset realising revenue rather than sitting on a ship or in a port.

On this same sailing, we carried a large trip tank also from Calgary for an International Oil Field services company, who awarded SEAWAY a one-time PO to move the tank, as their incumbent large Multi-National forwarders were not only unable to get space, but also could not achieve the same shipping costs.
